當年想藉看電視劇分散注意力，隨意挑選了一部以吸血鬼為主題的美劇觀看。
劇集圍繞兩位同是吸血鬼的兄弟Damon及Stefan，偶遇女主角Elena。飾演Elena的Nina Dobrev外表甜美且具吸引力，演技中規中矩。而在兄弟之間，我認為飾演Damon的Ian Somerhalder的演技比演Stefan的Paul Wesley較好，相比之下，Paul Wesley飾演的Stefan稍顯平淡。看完整部8季劇集後，我比較喜歡Damon這個角色。他初登場時是反派形象，但不知是受Elena影響還是本性善良，到中後期有從良的感覺。
劇集的前幾季表現尚可，尤其對年青觀眾有明顯的吸引力，以戀愛為核心也無可厚非。然而，隨著劇情推進，8季的長度顯得過於冗長，劇情顯疲態，橋段不斷重複：角色反覆經歷死亡與復活，感情線更是今天愛這位、明天愛那位，讓人逐漸對其情感戲感到麻木。此外，第七季開始，Nina Dobrev未再出演，劇集頓時失色，由Caroline接棒成為主要角色。由於我對Caroline的角色不甚喜愛，後期的觀賞更多只是因為習慣性追看，而非真正享受劇情所致。
